Description EVEREST SAFFRON with an intense aroma and taste is the authentic saffron from Nepal. Our saffron is produced in the Jumla and Dolpo region of the country, which has an excellent weather condition for the production of saffron. ORIGIN/HISTORY Since ancient times, saffron has been in use for seasoning and coloring food. In addition, saffron was made the official color for the Buddhist priests shortly after the death of Buddha. The dye for the robes is done with saffron. Although saffron has been in use in the past, it was not harvested much. However, the harvest of saffron in Nepal, especially in the Jumla and Dolpo region has increased of late with the growing demand of saffron from the Himalayas.
