EVEREST SAFFRON with an intense aroma and taste is the authentic saffron from Nepal. Our saffron is produced in the Jumla and Dolpo region of the country, which has an excellent weather condition for the production of saffron.
We claim to be the first company to brand the authentic saffron from Nepal as ‘Everest Saffron’
Saffron is considered one of the world’s most expensive spices due to the amount of labor involved in harvesting saffron. Its production in Nepal is very limited.
Saffron extracts are used as a spice to flavor foods and other products. Its extracts are also used as fragrance in perfumes and as a dye for cloth. Besides, it has natural medicinal values with antibacterial and antiviral properties, which are useful for treating stomach-ache, cough and bronchitis.
Everest Saffron is composed mainly of dried autumn crocus flowers from Jumla and Dolpo region of Nepal. Saffron flower has 6 purple petals, 3 golden yellow stamens and one red pistil which has 3 stigmas (filaments). The stigma of the flower is dried to make the spice saffron.
It contains some 28 volatile and aroma-yielding compounds, dominated by ketones and aldehydes. It also contains nonvolatile phytochemicals, including carotenoids, including zeaxanthin, lycopene, and various α- and β-carotenes.
Since ancient times, saffron has been in use for seasoning and coloring food. In addition, saffron was made the official color for the Buddhist priests shortly after the death of Buddha. The dye for the robes is done with saffron. Although saffron has been in use in the past, it was not harvested much. However, the harvest of saffron in Nepal, especially in the Jumla and Dolpo region has increased of late with the growing demand of saffron from the Himalayas.

Taking up to 1.5 grams of saffron daily is generally safe for adults, but eating too much can be toxic. Do not exceed more than 1.5 grams within 24 hours.
One simple way to supplement a meal with saffron is to add a few strands to a cup of hot water. Doing this pulls most of the flavor from the saffron. A person can then add both the water and saffron to a savory dish at the end of cooking.
Saffron is also used as a supplement, generally in the form of powdered stigmas in capsules.
This is a natural product useful for health benefit and well-being. However, it is not intended to cure any disease.
